The next intro to Ving Tsun class at the VTSDA will be held May 12th. We only accept four students for this class and there are only two places left for this class. If you are interested please fill out the form and contact us before all the spots are taken. This class is an excellent way to see what the system is all about, as well as see the academy and meet some of the other students. The cost is $25. If you like it and join the academy, the $25 will be taken off your first months tuition. Today at the VTSDA, everyone worked their basics of Matt Johnson Ving Tsun. It’s very important to review the basics, to keep a beginner’s mind for every form. This way, we build a strong foundation upon which to build our self defense. If you ever need it, this kind of practice means your Ving Tsun will be there for you. Definitely you know what you’re ving tsun to be “guess so.” Right?

Now that the Halloween candy and decorations are in stores it won’t be long before the winter holiday season is upon us. We certainly like to focus on the positive aspects of holiday time but the truth is, holiday shopping season can also be a time of greater opportunity for smash and grab type theft.

So, when you are out shopping please be aware of your surroundings. If someone tries to grab your stuff, weigh how important the stuff is VS your life. Might be best to let it go. If someone grabs you with intent to harm, it’s best to be prepared to do something that at least would allow you to get away fast. If you start training now you could be in a much better position to do just that if the need arose during the coming holiday season.
